PANIC!

i am absentminded, to say the least. i have a bad habit of setting things down and forgetting where i set them down. it happens to me pretty frequently.

it happened to me this morning. exhibit A:

i slept at shanna's last night. you can see this from the blog post i made from my phone after losing a game called "phase 10" that i actually rather enjoy but decided to blog about it regardless. so i slept at shanna's last night. we got to her house around 9pm after going to her sister's for a movie night, and i drove, and i got out of the car and grabbed my stuff and went inside. this morning at noon when i went to leave, i couldnt find my keys.

WHERE ARE MY KEYS?!?! WHERE ARE THEY!!! NO NO NO NO NO AMYLYNNE, YOU ARE SUCH AN AIRBRAIN! HOW COULD YOU LOSE A KEY?! THE ONE TIME MY MOM LETS ME USE HER CAR, BECAUSE MY CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP, WHICH IS FOR ANOTHER HATE BLOG POST, AND YOU LOSE THE KEY! HOW COULD YOU DO SUCH A THINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

after the initial shock wore off, shanna, heather, their mom, and i all ran around their house for 15 minutes searching. it was in my purse the whole time.

which is why
8. I HATE LOSING THINGS!!

one of the worst feelings in the world is losing something. it's happened to me waaay more than i would like to admit. sometimes it's something small. then this is what goes down:

a. PANIC
b. search house
c. call mom and have her search
d. retrace steps
e. look in the most obvious place
f. find lost item
g. feel sheepish

that's okay. i can usually handle the little things. but when a BIG THING IS LOST?!

a. PANIC
b. RUN AROUND
c. PANIC
d. ENLIST ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD IN SEARCH
e. PANIC
f. CALL YOURSELF AN AIRBRAIN AND GET ANGRY AT SELF
g. CRY
h. PANIC
i. LOOK IN MOST OBVIOUS PLACE
j. FIND LOST ITEM
k. FEEL SHEEPISH AND APOLOGIZE TO ENTIRE NEIGHBORHOOD FOR TEARING THEM AWAY FROM THEIR AMERICAN IDOL RERUNS AND THEIR COOKING AND THEIR FLUTES

its so much more stressful when it's a large item. like car keys. or things with sentimental value. or children. then it's serious.

and i hate serious.
